Salmon River Resort
is located right on the lower Salmon River at the mouth of White Bird Creek, near White Bird, ID. We offer full service RV sites, tent camping, motel rooms and cabin rental at the heart of North Central Idaho near Hells Canyon. The campground has been in business since the 1960s when the late Heather Killgore moved here and opened the lodging accomodations and ran a successful fishing tackle shop and store on the property. In the beginning we were called Chief White Bird motel, then later the name changed to Waterfront RV Park and Motel while still being operated by Les and Heather Killgore. Around 2000 Heather and Les started a jet boat tour company and operated the campground as part of their successful adventure business offering lodging to their customers. Heather passed on in 2018 and Les and Heather entrusted their beloved campground to daughter Kortney Killgore Smith who has changed the name to Salmon River Resort and plans to run and operate the place honoring her mothers legacy.
How to Find Us

From Lewiston
We are 86 miles south of Lewiston, ID just off of hwy 95. At the bottom of White Bird hill turn left into White Bird. At the stop sign turn left and go one mile on old hwy 95 until you see us on the right. Look for sign that says Salmon River Resort
From Riggins
We are 30 miles north of Riggins. At mile marker 223 turn left onto old hwy 95 then go 2 miles past a large bridge until you see our sign, Salmon River Resort.
Time change occurs at Riggins time zone changes from Mountain to Pacific.
